ABOUT RHONDA
		A Personal Note from Rhonda I adore weddings. I became a wedding consultant because I love every aspect of planning and executing weddings. A wedding is the outward expression of a couple's love, yet sometimes the planning process can take away from the pleasure of the celebration. Therefore, I've made it my life's work to simplify this process, and to help couples realize their dreams of a fun-filled wedding celebration that truly reflects their personality, background and style. I never dictate how my clients' weddings "should be," but rather I offer suggestions and guidance and then implement their decisions on their special day. I look forward to helping you on your wedding journey! How I Came To Be A Full-Time Wedding Consultant, Planner & Designer I graduated from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Spanish. While at Bucknell, I planned campus-wide events such as coffeehouses, casino nights and dinner theatre. I served as President of the Bucknell Activities Council, and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. After college, I moved to New York City and briefly worked for an advertising agency. I then went to New York Law School, where I graduated with a J.D., magna cum laude, and secured employment at the international law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher within their bankruptcy department. While practicing as an attorney, I met and married my Sweetheart, Michael Rivera, and in the process, rekindled my desire to plan special events. However, it took me one more law firm switch to Pitney Hardin LLP in Morristown, NJ (now Day Pitney LLP), in their civil litigation department, to become confident that practicing law was not my destined vocation. In 2002, I started Bride Ideas, and devoted myself full-time to this profession in 2004. Since then, I have been honored to work with many, many couples in planning the weddings of their dreams. After nearly a decade in the high-pressure legal world, I personally empathize with the stresses my clients are under. I also have attained the status of Professional Bridal Consultant^TM through the ABC, and am the Co-Director for the North New Jersey Local Networking Group of the ABC. I regularly attend conferences and seminars to keep up-to-date with the latest trends in the wedding industry. I was a featured speaker at the 2006 Northeast Regional Conference of the ABC. In addition, I have taught a course, "The Art of Planning Exceptional Events," at the Montclair Adult School. I am listed in the CAMBRIDGE WHO'S WHO EXECUTIVE AND PROFESSIONAL REGISTRY. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and French Polynesia. I live in West Orange with my husband, Michael, and our three adorable cats, Mr. Whiskers, Nutmeg and Phantom.
