In War Zones and in Peace (front page)
Sunday Star-Ledger, April 16, 2006
Bride Ideas' clients, Karinna Quidado and Tim Muckey, were profiled in this front page article. Karinna and Tim are active-duty Marines, who both were serving in Iraq during their entire engagement period. "While other brides schedule calls to wedding planners, caterers and florists during their work day, Karinna would send e-mails from Ramadi to her planner, Rhonda Bassat-Rivera, who owns Bride Ideas in West Orange, " the article states. In a two-day whirlwind, the couple picked the site and all of their major vendors with Bassat-Rivera and had a very "New Jersey wedding" - with a lavish cocktail hour, sit-down dinner, and a large wedding party of 16 bridesmaids and ushers, two flower girls and a ring bearer. On the wedding day, Karinna said, "This is my dream wedding, my big, family wedding."
Cocktail Reception: Less Formal, More Mingle
The Record and Herald News, September 29, 2005
This article focused on three alternatives to the traditional sit-down or buffet dinner reception: the cocktail reception, little plates and afternoon tea. "'My clients are looking to make it unique. That is the buzz word. They want to personalize,' said Rhonda Bassat-Rivera, owner of Bride Ideas, LC in West Orange, a wedding consultant serving North Jersey. . . . Since food is offered as little bites for little plates, one can upscale their reception by serving lobster and still keep costs within reach, Bassat-Rivera said. . . As with the cocktail reception, a main advantage of Little Plates is the opportunity for guests to mingle."
{Shake That} Money Maker
Courier News, June 27, 2004
This article gave tips and ideas about how a little creativity could help reduce the cost of a wedding. For example, extra favors, decorations and even wedding gowns can be sold on eBay. "Tax deductions are another way to recoup wedding expenses, according to wedding consultant Rhonda Bassat-Rivera, of Bride Ideas in West Orange. 'The couple can arrange for the unused food from their wedding reception to be donated to a local food bank or homeless shelter, (the value of) which can then be taken as a deduction on the couple's taxes,' Bassat-Rivera said. To take the deduction, you must ask the caterer to estimate the value of the donated food as a percentage of the cost of the total food purchased. Do not include other reception costs in the equation."
Consultants Can Help You Enjoy Your Big Day
Ocean County Observer, June 24, 2004

'Many people think that wedding consultants are only for the super-rich,' said Rhonda Bassat-Rivera, owner of Bride Ideas LLC, in West Orange. . . Her role as a wedding consultant is to make each couple's wedding day visions come true. . . 'Based on the couple's needs, I help them decide on a theme and style of their wedding and offer them alternatives that are within their budget,' Bassat-Rivera said. . . A former attorney, Bassat-Rivera said her legal experience is an added bonus for clients. 'I'm trained to review contracts and look for potential problems,' said Bassat-Rivera."
